Make your own crosswords with excellent free software – Eclipse. The program is very straightforward to use and includes a clear tutorial section. Several free puzzles, crosswords and word searches are available on the MathsGoodies site.
One of the Shine & Write Activities from Transum Software is Mathanagrams, these could be displayed for students to solve and they could then be asked for a sentence using that term.
A variation on crosswords are Crossums where all the clues are sums. You could print pdfs from this collection on the Teacher Resources on Line site.
